Mammoth Cave Virtual Tour

Tim, a Park Ranger at Mammoth Cave National Park, virtually visited some of our residents recently. He taught us history on the early cave explorer Stephen Bishop. Stephen Bishop was one of the lead explorers and guides at Mammoth Cave prior to the Civil War. He was also an enslaved man during most of his explorations. In 1856, Stephen Bishop and his wife were emancipated and he died a free man. The map Stephen Bishop made in 1844 is still highly accurate and continues to inspire many.
